Witnessing the Ongoing Transformation of The Oil and Gas Industry
This commentary by the International Energy Agency sheds some light on the path the oil and gas industry has traversed in the last few years.

O&G Remains Key Industry
The oil and gas sector is among the six core industries in India and plays a major role in influencing decision making for all the other important sections of the economy.

The Future for Gas in The Energy Mix
Gas could be the ideal partner for renewable energy generation in a future sustainable energy mix, but the oil and gas industry must help policymakers, planners and the public understand, anticipate and desire non-price benefits of the fuel, says DNV GL group president and CEO, Remi Eriksen.

Identification of Corrosion Monitoring Points and Mitigation in Oil and Gas Systems
To minimize the risk of corrosion in offshore oil and gas systems correct location of monitoring points is essential as well as the application of mitigation methods when excessive corrosion is found to take place. Therefore, an effectively methodology needs to be developed through which corrosion monitoring is applied at places in the process system subjected to the highest risk of failure, and where the consequence of failure is significant. In conjunction engineers should have a set of mitigation procedures that can be applied to react close to high levels of corrosion so that the rates can be reduced to those specified in key performance indicators (KPI) to achieve the lifetime of the asset. Although corrosion probes and coupons, fluid sampling points and bio-probes may be recommended at specified locations during the FEED stage of a project, this is usually done without any information related to the consequence of failure from a RBI study; as a consequence, there could be a series of gaps in the monitoring program.
