7TH CLEAN MARINE FUEL FORUM 2023

Shipping is the cog in the economic wheel driving global prosperity. As a matter of fact whether one realises it or not, more than 80% of the goods traded are moved by seaborne transportation.
If ever the Paris Accords mandates that the world’s ships need to decarbonise, that shift to clean fuels could well be underway by 2030.
Change at this critical juncture requires not just a fertile imagination but a range of solutions including technical and operational energy efficiency measures, alternative propulsion methods, and the widespread adoption of sustainable, zero and low carbon marine fuels.
And here is where Green Methanol comes into focus. Liquid at ambient temperature, it is easier to handle and although the emissions savings are smaller than for LNG, it is mildly toxic, and is a suitable alternate fuel.
Taken together Green Ammonia and Green Hydrogen present a carbon free option and both are clean fuel solutions. Hydrogen storage, however, has technical challenges, and is expensive to solve in the short term. It is a different kettle of fish for Ammonia even as marine bunkering infrastructure and safety standards for safe handling and storage of Ammonia, are still in its infancy.
As the clock continues to tick, stakeholders are seeing a growing need to develop solid infrastructure and sustainable supply chains for clean fuels.
Join us as we deliberate on the various alternative fuel options available, each with its own advantages and challenges.
